Online Training: Applications of Edible Cannabinoids in Oncology Nutrition
This online training is intended to give clinical nutritionists and cannabis users a fundamental understanding on the production and use of edible cannabis products in an Oncology Nutrition program. The course will cover the basics of the endocannabinoid system (ECS), basic pharmacology of THC and CBD, metabolic effects of phytocannabinoids, GI effects of ingested cannabinoids, genetic influences on cannabis response and contraindications. The online training will finish with two sugar-free, cannabis recipes. The handouts will include recipes.
The online training will be given on a live Zoom webinar, which will take place on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020 at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. If you are unable to attend the live webinar, the recording will be uploaded to this course within one week after the live webinar and you will have access to it in the future.

Steve Ottersberg received his Master of Science in Bio-organic Chemistry from Arizona State University, where he taught both organic chemistry and nutritional-biochemistry, and his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, where he held a faculty position teaching chemistry. He also founded Colorado's 11th certified cannabis testing laboratory, and currently works as a biochemistry consultant for Biocanic.
